Non-Surgical Facelift

Most commonly, facelifts are done when there is aging of the skin. Facial aging can be due to photo damage to the face due to the sun, sagging of skin and loss of volume in the face. Non-surgical facelifts are widely chosen over surgical facelifts mainly because invasive treatments are expensive. Facelift techniques are used to rejuvenate skin and tighten it without surgery.

Treatments

The skin’s elasticity reduces with age and, as a result, the ears elongate, eyelids and tip of the nose droop, jowls form, and upper lip disappears and lower lip becomes prominent. Most people prefer the less painful non-surgical option to restore facial expressions.

DMAE

This is a very mild form of facelift where dimethylethanolamine is used for skin-firming. DMAE, also known as Deanol, is effective in treating ADHD, Alzheimer’s, autism and tardive dyskinesia – a disorder associated with movement. Topical application of Deanol helps in building the chemical choline which, in turn, helps produce acetylcholine in the body necessary for nervous system and brain functions.

Oxylift

Oxylift is an oxygenated facelift system which uses high-frequency currents to tighten the skin and make it look healthier. The fast massaging action across the face and neck increases blood circulation, heals blemishes and might even stimulate formation of new collagen.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is traditional Chinese medicine which helps free chi or energy. Most women choose this over a surgical facelift. Needles inserted at various strategic points in the body help stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which naturally tightens the skin.

Thread facelift

A thread facelift is one of the most novel procedures and is done with no anaesthesia. Thin threads are inserted into the face through small incisions made in the skin. These threads are attached to the skin tissue and pulled back to a lift, to smoothen the face. The threads are knotted and hidden in the skin itself. There is no scarring during this procedure.
Liquid facelift

In a liquid facelift, hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane or Sculptra are injected into the skin in small quantities to enhance skin quality and fill wrinkles. Popular botulinum Botox is also a form of liquid facelift, which is very effective.

Thermage

Thermage works with radio frequency and heat generation. A hand-held device with a flat, smooth tip emanates radiofrequency and heats the layers of the skin, tightening the collagen. This helps stimulate formation of new collagen and, over a period of time, improves the skin’s surface and reduces sagging.
